Andriy ILKIV comes from Western Ukraine, Ternopil region, from musicians’ family.
He studied at musical colleges in Rivne and Khmelnitsky and graduated Tchaikovsky National Musical Academy
in KYIV under the guidance of Alexander Chupryna, the soloist of orchestra of National Opera of Ukraine.
A.ILKIV was a member of first Ukrainian brass-quintet UKRAINIAN-BRASS.
Leader and first trumpet of KYIV-BRASS quintet.
Soloist at the National House of Organ and Chamber music of Ukraine.
He plays concerts with chamber, symphonic, wind, folk orchestras, organ, singers, piano, various ensembles etc.
For years A.ILKIV had been a principal trumpet of worldwide known orchestra PHILHARMONIE OF NATIONS.
He had performed as soloist as well as in orchestras and ensembles in concert halls of Ukraine, Great Britain, Germany,
France, Spain, Italy, Poland, USA, Serbia, Croatia, Russia, Kazakhstan, China, India, Belarus etc. Among these
Queen Elisabeth Hall in London, Concert House in Berlin, Berlin Philharmonic, Gasteig in Munich, Alta Oper
in Frankfurt, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Belgrade Philharmonic and many others.
A.ILKIV is YAMAHA`s artist.
He takes part and manages a lot of projects under support of IN-JAZZ (official representative of YAMAHA in Ukraine).
1999 - 2007 - trumpet and brass ensemble lessons at the Tchaikovsky National Musical Academy of Ukraine.
2012 - 2017 - guest professor at M.Glinka Academy of Music in Dnipro.
A.ILKIV conducts workshops all around Ukraine and abroad (including Poland, Germany, Belarus, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China etc).
Member of World & European Brass Association (WBA & EBA)
Since 2017 Andriy ILKIV is the solo-trumpet in WÜRTH PHILHARMONIKER.
A.ILKIV has made a lot of recordings for the musical fund of the National Radio Company of UKRAINE.
Andriy uses professionally all types of trumpets which makes him a very multi-sided musician and forms his wide repertoire starting from baroque and ending up with folk, pop and jazz.
